In addition to time zone differences, video conferences often cause additional fatigue to participants, and it may be difficult for those involved to maintain their attention for a full day session. However, where, for example, the tribunal members and one party are in London, with the other party and its counsel in Singapore, a full hearing day will not be possible. At an in-person hearing, the principal participants (the tribunal, the parties and their counsel) would generally appear together at the hearing location and therefore participate in full day hearings.
